The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor program is your final step in the quest to become a PADI Instructor. During the IDC, you'll learn to use and adapt the PADI System of diver education to individual student needs. Comprehensive training, supported by a wide variety of PADI educational materials, earns PADI Instructors respect from both students and peers. PADI Open Water Scuba Instructors may conduct a broad range of PADI programs from Discover Scuba to Divemaster.
The PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor rating sets you apart from the crowd. PADI Instructors may conduct the entire range of PADI programs - from Discover Scuba through Divemaster. PADI Instructors do things others can only daydream about.

Prerequisites
In order to enroll in the IDC, there are some prerequisites that you have to meet. By the beginning of the program you must be 18 years old, with six months diving experience and at least 100 dives (including deep, night, and navigation diving). You have to be an active PADI Divemaster or Assistant Instructor, or an Instructor with another agency, with signed medical clearance and CPR training within the past two years. If you're not sure whether you meet any of these prerequisites, let us know; we'll help you find out, and will do whatever we can to help you qualify.
As long as you meet these prerequisites, are comfortable with everything in the Divemaster program, and approach the IDC with a healthy attitude, you'll have every opportunity to shine!
